Walking shoes (mountain boots), winter hat, cap, swimming wear, warm and waterproof coat, jersey, t-shirt, jeans or safari trousers, scarf, gloves, warm socks

Most of the time we will be in game reserve or very relaxed environments so bring confortable and working clothes. During course time we will be traveling a lot so we recommend bring no more than one bag of luggage.

Please keep in mind that this is a veterinarian program, so please, when working, wear a comfortable but professional outfit. Regarding colours, its preferred earth-like, black and blue. Bright colours are not allowed. 

Eary moring and late captures can get chilly during our winter months so pack for 10 and above 

Course will supply transportation to and from the airport , weekend activites as well

Game drives , Beach days , hogsback trip , kayaking , SUPPING , Sunday boat cruises ( links to be added to the places that offer activities )

All photos and videos will be uploaded to a drive where each student will have acces to after the program

A valid passport or travel document that will be valid for the length of your intended stay. Your passport should have at least TWO blank facing pages in it.

A valid visa, if required.

Sufficient funds.

A return or onward ticket.

Yellow fever certificate – if your journey starts or passes through the yellow fever belt of Africa or South America.

PLEASE note you will be in Malaria Free Areas and we are going to be in hygienic places, however any precaution is recommended.

As we will be mostly on farms we supply filterd rain water as well as bought bottle water during the day to day course

Accomodation has fast stable free wifi , south african sim cards will have to be bought at their expense if they choose to buy

The Wildlife Veterinary Experience is part of the Amathole Wildlife Practice in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, offering a hands-on veterinary experience in Game Health Management and Chemical Immobilization (game darting and capture)
